대구 최대 복합쇼핑몰 5월초 착공
대구롯데쇼핑타운 2025년 개점 목표 5월 초 착공 예정

대구경북경제자유구역청은 29일‘대구롯데쇼핑타운’이 수성의료지구 내 건립공사를 내달 시작할 것이라고 밝혔다.
최삼룡 청장은 29일 대구시청 별관 에서 권영진 대구시장과 대구롯데쇼핑타운 관계자와 함께 대구롯데몰의 조속한 건립을 위한 간담회를 통해 이같이 밝혔다.
대구롯데쇼핑타운 복합쇼핑몰 건립공사는 2014년 12월 토지 분양 후 2019년 6월 대구광역시, 대경경자청과 롯데쇼핑타운대구(주)가 사업을 위한 업무협약을 체결한 바 있다. 당시 교통영향평가와 건축심의 등을 거쳐 지난해 6월 지하 1층, 지상 8층, 연면적 250,314㎡(약 7만 5천평)의 규모로 건축허가가 이뤄졌다.
이후 코로나19 영향 등으로 사업추진의 무산을 우려하는 목소리가 이었지만 올해 2월 롯데자산개발에서 롯데쇼핑으로의 쇼핑몰 사업인수 과정 등을 통해 ‘대구롯데쇼핑타운’의 사업이 순항으로 돌아섰다.
롯데 관계자는 “내·외부 환경의 변화로 당초 계획보다 사업추진이 다소 지연되었지만 5월에 착공해 2025년 완공을 목표로 사업계획을 조정했다”면서 “판매시설 중심으로 설계된 기존 건축계획안을 포스트코로나 시대의 급변하는 쇼핑환경에 대응, 오프라인 매장에 새로운 트렌드를 선도할 수 있는 휴게, 문화체험, 레저, 힐링공간 등을 포함한 혁신적인 컨셉의 대규모 복합쇼핑몰이 될 수 있도록 검토 중”이라고 밝혔다.
