【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항산업과학연구원(이하 RIST, 원장 남수희) 분석평가센터와 LG에너지솔루션 분석센터는 지난 20일 RIST 포항 본원에서 배터리에 대한 분석 기술교류회를 실시했다고 21일 밝혔다.

RIST 분석평가센터는 KOLAS(Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme) 국제공인시험기관으로 각종 소재의 화학 조성, 미세 구조 분석, 기계적 물성 시험 등 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 약 300여종의 시험 장비와 분야별 전문 인력을 갖추고 있다.

LG에너지솔루션 CTO(최고기술경영자) 산하의 분석센터는 100여명의 석∙박사 연구원이 소재, 전극, 셀 분석부터 계산과학을 통한 해석까지 이차전지 분야 종합 분석을 수행하고 있다.

이날 교류회에서는 LG에너지솔루션에서 박철희 분석센터장을 포함한 각 분야별 전문가 8명이 참석하였고, RIST에서는 김근환 융합혁신연구소장 등 12명이 참석하였다.

LG에너지솔루션은 배터리 산업 전반에 활용되는 분석 기술과 최근 이슈를 공유하였으며, RIST는 방사광 가속기를 이용한 배터리 소재 구조 분석, 인공지능(AI)을 활용한 양극활물질 자동 분석, 레이저를 이용한 조성 신속 분석, 폐배터리 재활용 분석 등 배터리 관련 분석 기술과 RIST가 보유하고 있는 첨단 장비를 소개했다.

특히, 이번 기술교류회는 국내 배터리 산업 관련 분석센터 전문가 집단의 기술 교류로써, 향후 배터리 소재부터 전지 사용 단계에서의 광범위한 활용까지 분석 기술에 대한 협업과 공동 연구개발을 위해 정기적인 기술교류회를 실시할 계획이라고 했다.
