【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=동국대 WISE캠퍼스 원효관 글로벌에이스홀에서 지난 14일 경주시 후원으로 오준 세이브더칠드런 이사장(전 유엔대사/유엔경제사회이사회 의장)의 경주형 세계시민교육 초청강연이 진행됐다.
15일 동국대 WISE캠퍼스에 따르면 이날 오준 이사장은 “왜 세계시민인가? 포스트 코로나 시대 다시 세계로”라는 주제로 강연을 펼쳤고 경주시민 및 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 교직원과 재학생 등 150여명이 강연에 참여했다. 강연 후에 오준 이사장은 참석자 등으로부터 질문을 받고 답했다.
오준 이사장은 “이번 강연을 통해 경주시민 그리고 WISE캠퍼스 재학생들과 함께 글로벌한 세계를 만들기 위해 생각을 나누어 보는 기회를 가지게 되어 기쁘게 생각하고, 변화 속에서 세계에 대한 인식과 안목의 폭을 넓힐수 있는 계기가 될 수 있기를 바란다”며 “강연을 준비해준 동국대 WISE캠퍼스와 경주시에 감사함을 전한다고” 말했다.
“경주형 세계시민교육”은 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌융합연구소에서 경주시와 관학협력사업의 일환으로 기획한 명품 교양강좌 시리즈로 매월 개최된다.
이번 행사를 준비한 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 글로벌융합연구소 이영찬 교수는 “경주 시민들을 대상으로 세계시민성에 관한 핵심 주제별 강의를 제공하여 책임있는 세계시민으로서의 소양을 갖출 수 있도록 지원하고자 하며, 경주의 지역인재양성과 글로컬 특성화 모델을 창출할 수 있기를 기대한다.”고 말했다.

On the 14th at Global Ace Hall in Wonhyogwan, Dongguk University's WISE Campus, Save the Children Director Joon Oh (former UN Ambassador/Chairman of the UN Economic and Social Council) gave an invitational lecture on Gyeongju-type global citizenship education sponsored by Gyeongju City.
According to the Dongguk University WISE Campus, Chairman Oh Jun said, “Why are you a global citizen? The lecture was given under the theme of “Back to the World in the Post-Corona Era,” and about 150 people, including Gyeongju citizens and Dongguk University WISE Campus faculty and students, participated in the lecture. After the lecture, Chairman Oh Joon received and answered questions from the attendees.
Chairman Oh Jun said, “Through this lecture, I am delighted to have the opportunity to share my thoughts to create a global world with the citizens of Gyeongju and the students of the WISE Campus, and I hope to broaden my awareness and perspective on the world in the midst of change. “Gyeongju-type Global Citizenship Education” is held every month as a luxury liberal arts lecture series planned by the Global Convergence Research Center of Dongguk University’s WISE Campus as part of a government-academic cooperation project with Gyeongju City.
Dongguk University WISE Campus Global Convergence Research Institute Professor Lee Young-chan, who prepared this event, said, “We want to provide lectures on key themes on global citizenship to the citizens of Gyeongju so that they can become responsible global citizens. We look forward to creating local characterization models.”
