【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스(총장 류완하) 교양융합교육원은 지난 1월 14일부터 15일까지 이틀간 2026학년도 예비 신입생을 대상으로 ‘신입생 역량 강화 캠프’를 개최했다.

이번 캠프는 입학을 앞둔 예비 신입생 120명을 대상으로 대학 생활을 미리 체험하고, 대학생에게 요구되는 핵심 역량을 체계적으로 계발할 수 있도록 마련됐다. 프로그램 기획과 운영은 교양융합교육원 신입생커뮤니센터가 맡았다.

캠프 프로그램은 예비 신입생들의 대학 생활 조기 적응을 지원하는 데 중점을 두고 다채롭게 구성됐다. 주요 내용으로는 선배들이 직접 대학 생활 전반과 성적 관리, 대인관계, 장학금 정보 등을 전하는 ‘선배와 함께하는 멘토 특강’을 비롯해 팀워크와 문제 해결 능력을 키우는 참여형 프로그램 ‘원, 투, 쓰리 뛰어!’, 교내 동아리의 축하 공연, 인생의 도전과 한계를 주제로 대학 생활을 설계해보는 명사 특강 등이 진행됐다.

캠프에 참여한 지하은 글로컬인재학부 예비 신입생은 “1박 2일 동안 함께 공부할 신입생들을 만나 서로 알아가고 친해질 수 있는 뜻깊은 시간이었다”며 “멘토로 함께해 준 선배들과 교수님들께 감사드리며, 3월에 다시 만날 날이 기대된다”고 소감을 전했다.

정효원 교양융합교육원장은 “이번 신입생 역량 강화 캠프가 지혜롭고 따뜻한 마음으로 세상을 밝혀가는 동국인으로 성장하는 데 든든한 발판이 되기를 바란다”며 “참여 학생들의 만족도 조사 결과를 바탕으로 내년에는 더욱 내실 있는 프로그램을 운영해 신입생들의 역량 계발과 강화를 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스 교양융합교육원은 앞으로도 신입생 맞춤형 교육 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영해 학생들의 성공적인 대학 생활 정착을 지원할 방침이다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus (President Ryu Wan-ha)'s Liberal Arts and Convergence Education Center hosted a two-day "Freshmen Capacity Building Camp" for prospective freshmen for the Class of 2026 from January 14th to 15th.

The camp was designed for 120 prospective freshmen to experience college life in advance and systematically develop the core competencies required for university students. The program was planned and operated by the Freshmen Community Center of the Liberal Arts and Convergence Education Center.

The camp program was diverse and focused on supporting prospective freshmen's early adaptation to university life. Key activities included "Mentoring with Seniors," where seniors personally shared insights on college life, academic performance management, interpersonal relationships, and scholarship information. The program also included an interactive program, "One, Two, Three, Run!" designed to foster teamwork and problem-solving skills. A celebratory performance by a campus club was also held, along with a lecture by a prominent figure, which explored the challenges and limitations of life.

Ji Ha-eun, a prospective freshman in the Department of Global Talent, who participated in the camp, said, "It was a meaningful time to meet the new students I will be studying with over the past two days and night, getting to know them and becoming closer. I am grateful to the seniors and professors who served as mentors, and I look forward to meeting them again in March."

Meanwhile, Dongguk University's WISE Campus Liberal Arts Convergence Education Center plans to continue operating customized education programs for new students to support their successful settlement into university life.
