【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항산업과학연구원(이하 RIST / Research Institute of Industrial Science & Technology, 원장 남수희) 김명균 수석연구원이 국내 비철금속산업 분야의 기술 상용화 및 경쟁력 강화에 기여한 공로로 대한금속재료학회 기술상을 수상했다고 27일 밝혔다.
RIST에 따르면 27일 제주 국제컨벤션센터에서 열린 대한금속재료학회 춘계학술대회에서 김명균 수석연구원은 2004년부터 포스코그룹의 실용화 전문 연구기관인RIST에서 근무하면서 알루미늄을 중심으로 포스코의 마그네슘, 타이타늄 사업에 비철금속분야 기술전문가로 참여했다.
고 용질 알루미늄 합금과 고품질 연주 기술을 기반으로 산업 핵심, 전략적 핵심소재, 민군겸용 및 소재부품사업에 연구책임자로 국내 연구소 설비 중 최대 용량/최고품질의 연주기를 설계하고, 국내 알루미늄기업에 주조 및 소성가공 관련 기술을 이전하는 등 현장밀착형 연구를 주로 수행하였다.

대외적으로 대한금속재료학회 알루미늄 분과위원회 총무 간사, 한국주조공학회 학술이사 등으로 활동하면서 19년부터는 매년 알루미늄 산학연 기술 워크숍을 개최하는 등 국내 비철산업의 기술 진보와 역량강화를 위한 산학연 기술교류를 적극 추진하고 있다.
포스코그룹에서는 2023년 대한금속재료학회 춘계학술대회에서 김명균 수석연구원의 기술상과 함께 포스코기술연구원 최종교 연구위원은 현송공학상을, 이강민 수석연구원은 신진학술상을 포항공과대학교 임창희 교수는 공로상에 선정됐다.
