9일 경북문화관광공사(사장직무대행 김일곤, 이하 공사)에 따르면 신라의 역사적 가치를 상징하는 ‘피움’ 조형물은 가로 7.5m, 세로 7.5m, 높이 7.4m 크기로 2022년 10월 착수해 최근 설치를 완료 했다.

조형물의 상부는 신라의 대표 유물인 금관의 형상과 신라 천년 역사를 피어오르는 꽃봉오리에 담아 역사적 유물을 현대적으로 재해석 하였으며, 하단부는 이 땅에 터를 잡은 신라를 상징하고 있다.

내·외부에는 조명을 설치해 야간에도 조형물을 감상할 수 있으며 목월공원, 보문레이크타운, 라한호텔 등 보문호수 산책로에 관광객들의 이해를 돕기 위한 안내판을 설치하였다.

김일곤 사장직무대행은 “보문관광단지에 천년의 역사가 피어오른다는 주제의 조형물이 설치되어 많은 관광객이 역사와 예술에 대하여 생각해 볼 수 있는 시간이 되었으면 한다” 며, “공사는 앞으로도 볼거리와 관광객의 편의시설 보강에 더욱 힘써겠다”고 말했다.
