이번 성금은 대구·경북 지역에서 활동 중인 우체국 보험설계사(FC) 470여 명이 자발적으로 참여해 마련한 것으로, 따뜻한 지역사회 연대의 의미를 더했다. 전달식은 청송군에서 진행됐으며, 김영희 대구달서우체국 FC연합 경북지회장이 대표로 참석해 성금을 전달했다.
우정청 관계자에 따르면, 이번 지원은 단발성에 그치지 않는다. 이들은 지난 10일에도 영덕군에 200만 원 상당의 구호물품을 기부하고, 구호물품 분류와 포장 등 자원봉사 활동을 함께 진행한 바 있다. 향후에도 피해 지역 복구를 위한 지속적인 봉사활동을 이어갈 계획이다.
노기섭 경북지방우정청장은 “우체국 보험설계사들의 따뜻한 마음이 산불 피해로 어려움을 겪고 있는 주민들에게 작은 위로가 되기를 바란다”며 “주민들이 하루빨리 일상으로 복귀할 수 있도록 적극적으로 지원하겠다”고 밝혔다.
