전선희 지청장은 1994년 공직에 임용된 이후 국가보훈부 연수원에서 공직 생활을 시작해 감사담당관실, 보상정책국, 기획조정실 등 주요 부서를 두루 거쳤다. 이후 광주지방보훈청 총무과장과 국립산청호국원장을 역임하는 등 보훈 행정 전반에 대한 풍부한 경험을 쌓아왔다.

전 지청장은 취임 소감을 통해 “전국에서 가장 많은 독립유공자를 배출한 경북북부 지역에서 보훈정책을 구현하게 되어 큰 자부심을 느낀다”며 “국가를 위한 헌신을 결코 잊지 않고 그에 합당한 예우와 보답이 이루어질 수 있도록, 국민과 소통하는 경북북부보훈지청을 만들어 가기 위해 전 직원과 함께 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 경북북부보훈지청은 앞으로도 국가유공자와 보훈가족에 대한 예우 강화를 중심으로 지역 특성에 맞는 보훈정책을 적극 추진해 나갈 계획이다.
