‘희망날개’ 사업은 포항, 광양 지역에 거주하는 장애인들에게 맞춤형 보조기구를 지원하는 사업이며, ‘희망공간’ 사업은 환경이 열악한 소규모 장애인 복지시설의 리모델링과 화재 위험요인을 제거하는 사업이다. 포스코1%나눔재단이 2019년부터 장애인들의 복지향상을 위해 두가지 사업을 중점 추진해왔다.

이날 희망날개 행사에 참석한 경상북도 장애인 배드민턴 대표선수인 진기범씨는 “배드민턴 선수용 스포츠 휠체어를 지원받아 연습에 더욱 매진할 수 있게 되었다”며 “전국체전에 참가해 좋은 성적을 내서 이에 보답하고 많은 분들에게 기쁨을 주고 싶다”고 감사의 마음을 전했다.
