【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포스코1%나눔재단은 지난 2019년부터 운영해 온 ‘Change My Town’ 사업을 올해부터 사업 규모와 지역을 확대해 다양한 나눔 활동을 실천한다고 18일 밝혔다.

‘Change My Town’은 지역사회에 개선이 필요한 시설과 지원 활동 등을 기부자인 임직원들이 직접 아이디어를 제안하고, 실행까지 추진하는 포스코1%나눔재단의 대표 사회공헌 사업이다. 임직원이 지역사회 개선을 위해 필요한 활동을 기획하여 제안서를 작성하면 재단에서 지역사회에 미치는 영향력·공익성·시급성 등을 종합 고려해 프로그램을 선정한다. 포스코1%나눔재단은 실행 예산을 지원하고 임직원들은 활동종료 후 소감문, 사진 등을 제출해 결과를 공유한다.

특히 올해부터는 포항·광양지역 뿐만 아니라 포스코그룹 사업장이 있는 인천·성남 등 여러 지역으로 지원을 확대하기 위해 포스코 외 포스코인터내셔널·포스코이앤씨·포스코퓨처엠·포스코DX 등 주요 사업회사까지 함께 참여한다.

포스코 포항 제강설비부에서는 포항시 북구 중앙로의 문화예술작가 모임인 '꿈틀로사회적협동조합'과 협업해 다수의 장애인 작가가 활동 중인 꿈틀로 문화거리를 찾아가 공방의 계단 경사판을 설치해주고, 노후 등기구 교체·데크 도색 등 보수활동을 지원했다. 광양 EIC기술부는 지역 아동들에게 도움이 되고자 지역아동센터 내 출입구 및 계단에 미끄럼 방지 시공 등을 해주며 아이들과 함께 친환경 화분 만들기도 진행했다.

포스코인터내셔널 경영지원본부 직원들은 직접 김치를 담궈 인천지역 내 다문화 가정과 취약계층 주민에게 배송하며 주위에 온기를 나누는 활동을 펼쳤으며, 포스코이앤씨 율촌 광석리튬 상용화 PJT 직원들은 지체장애 어린이들이 있는 광양 소재 특수어린이집의 옥상 데크를 수리하고 꽃밭을 조성해 장애 어린이들의 교육환경을 개선해주었다.

또한 포스코퓨처엠 광양화성공장 직원들은 광양 소재 장애인복지관에서 장애 아동과 함께 과자집 만들기, 편지쓰기 활동 등을 하며 일일 벗이 되어주었다. 포스코DX는 장애인 가족의 이야기를 담은 수기 공모전에서 우수 입상 수기집 12개 작품을 대상으로 직원들의 목소리 재능기부를 통해 오디오북을 제작 지원했다.

포스코1%나눔재단은 지난 2019년부터 5년 간 임직원 8,500여 명이 516건의 ‘Change My Town’활동을 통해 지역사회에 긍정적 변화를 불러 일으켰다. 특히 올해부터는 그룹사 사업장으로 사업규모를 확대하여 포항, 광양, 인천 등지에서 포스코그룹 임직원 2,400여 명이 142건의 활동을 전개했다.

한편, 포스코1%나눔재단은 2013년부터 포스코그룹 및 협력사 임직원들이 매월 급여의 1%를 자발적으로 기부하고, 기부금만큼 회사에서 매칭그랜트로 후원하여 운영되는 비영리 공익법인이다. 지난해까지 누적모금액 총 957.8억원을 달성하며 국내 대표의 임직원 참여 재단으로 성장했으며, 임직원의 나눔 1%가 희망 100%로 퍼져 나갈 수 있도록 사회적 가치를 실천하고 있다.
