【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=영남대 의과대학(학장 김성호)은 ‘2023 상반기 영남의대 의학통계 빅데이터 OPEN Class’를 성황리에 개최했다고 26일 밝혔다.

대학에 따르면 2021년부터 시작된 영남대 의대의 의학통계 심포지움은 임상과 산업계에서 많은 경험을 쌓은 내외부 통계전문가를 초청하여 매년 상하반기에 개최하고 있으며, 올해 상반기로 5회째 개최 중이다. 

특히, 이번 심포지움에서는 외부 전문가로 연세대 의학통계학 교실과 용인 세브란스 병원, 제약산업계에서 다양한 임상 통계를 섭렵한 계명대 통계학과의 손낙훈 교수를 초빙했다.

연구 표본수 선정에 대한 이론적 배경을 되짚어 보았고, 대구·경북지역의 대표적 IT 전문개발 회사인 디케이브릿지웍스의 김성동 이사를 초청하여 AI를 이용한 다양한 의학연구의 사례와 특히 최근 활성화된 Chat GPT를 활용법을 이용한 의학연구 방향에 대한 토론으로 진행되었다.

향후에도 영남대 의대 연구지원실은 의료연구의 최신 트렌드에 맞추어 각 분야의 전문가를 초청해 연구력 향상에 필요한 연구 지적재산권 확보, 의학통계 방법론, AI 활용한 연구방법 등 다양한 내용을 공유할 계획이다.

또 의과대학의 기초 및 임상연구, 빅데이터 연구를 준비하는 연구자들을 위한 열린 소통의 기회를 지속적으로 마련할 방침이다.
