대학알리미에 최근 공개된 자료(2021년 기준)에 따르면, 영남대 의대 교수 1인당 SCI급/SCOPUS 학술지 논문 수는 1,0803건으로 서울대, 연세대, 성균관대, 중앙대에 이어 다섯 번째 순위에 올랐다.
SCI급/SCOPUS 학술지 등재는 해당 논문의 세계적 권위와 영향력을 입증하는 지표로 활용된다.
특히 1인당 논문 실적은 교수 전체 수에 비례하는 것이 아닌 교원별 연구 역량을 반영한다는 점에서 의미가 있다.
영남대 의과대학은 7년 연속으로 톱 5에 랭크됨으로써 지방에서도 의료기술의 지속 가능한 성장 모델을 보여주었다는 평가를 받고 있다.
