중복을 앞둔 이날, 대구의 낮 기온이 36도에 육박하는 무더위 속에서도 봉사단원들은 정성껏 준비한 삼계탕을 300가구에 직접 포장해 전달하며 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 어르신들은 “더운데 고생이 많습니다”, “맛있게 잘 먹겠습니다” 등의 인사로 따뜻한 마음을 나눴다.

‘집배원365봉사단’은 동대구우체국 소속 집배원들이 자발적으로 조직한 봉사단체로, 지난 14년간 지역 내 소외계층을 위한 다양한 행복나눔 활동을 꾸준히 이어오고 있다.

천윤오 동대구우체국장은 “작은 정성이지만 삼계탕 한 그릇으로 어르신들이 무더위를 잠시나마 잊고 건강한 여름을 보내시길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역사회를 위한 사회공헌활동을 지속적으로 이어가겠다”고 밝혔다.
