【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=봉산문화회관이 문화체육관광부 산하 공공문화예술 지원사업 3건에 잇따라 선정되면서, 2026년 공연·전시 기획 역량 강화에 박차를 가하고 있다.
봉산문화회관(관장 전성찬·대구 중구 도심재생문화재단)은 최근 문화체육관광부 산하의 공공문화예술 지원사업 3건에 연속 선정, 국비 2억6천420만 원을 확보했다. 확보된 예산을 토대로 연극과 뮤지컬 중심극장, 그리고 ‘스토리가 있는 전시장’으로 한 단계 도약한다는 게 회관 측의 구상이다.
이번에 선정된 사업은 △문예회관 특성화 지원사업(한국문화예술회관연합회), △공연예술 지역유통 지원사업(예술경영지원센터), △예술기반 청년일자리 지원사업(한국문화예술위원회) 등 3건이다. 이에 따라 봉산문화회관은 기획 공연 제작뿐 아니라 지역 유통 네트워크 구축, 청년 예술인 고용과 창작 지원에 필요한 재원을 확보했다.
공연 분야에서는 3월 뮤지컬 갈라 콘서트 ‘RE:START’로 시즌의 문을 연다. 5월에는 그림책 페스티벌 ‘BOOK적BOOK적’과 가족뮤지컬 ‘알사탕’, 그리고 ‘장수탕 선녀님’이 이어진다. 9월에는 서문시장 ‘금달래’ 설화를 바탕으로 한 창작뮤지컬 ‘신들의 밤’이 초연될 예정이다. 더불어 4월에는 연극 ‘망원동 브라더스’, 10월에는 국악 콘서트 ‘풍류일가’ 등 다채로운 무대가 연중 펼쳐진다.
전시 분야에선 ‘스토리가 있는 전시장’이라는 정체성을 강화한다. 9~10월에는 중구 출신 작가 이인성, 서동진을 조명하는 ‘대구 문화사전’ 전시로 지역 미술사를 재조명하고, 11월에는 예술 나눔을 주제로 한 ‘아트 도네이션 전’을 개최한다. 설치미술 프로젝트 ‘유리상자’ 시리즈는 2~4월과 10~12월, 연중 꾸준히 관객을 만난다.
봉산문화회관 관계자는 “세 개의 국가 공모사업 선정은 봉산문화회관의 콘텐츠 기획력과 운영 전문성이 공공적으로 인정받은 결과”라면서 “연극·뮤지컬 중심극장으로 지역 창작 콘텐츠를 발굴하고, 청년 예술인과 함께 성장하는 공공문예회관이 되도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

These projects include the Arts Center Specialization Support Project (Korea Arts and Culture Center Association), the Performing Arts Regional Distribution Support Project (Korea Arts Management Support Center), and the Arts-Based Youth Job Creation Support Project (Korea Arts Council Korea). As a result, Bongsan Cultural Center has secured the necessary funding not only to produce planned performances but also to establish a regional distribution network, employ young artists, and support creative endeavors.
The performing arts season will kick off in March with the musical gala concert "RE:START." May will feature the picture book festival "BOOK-Jeok BOOK-Jeok," the family musical "Alsatang," and "Jangsu-tang Fairy." In September, the original musical "Night of the Gods," based on the folktale "Geumdal-lae" from Seomun Market, will premiere. Furthermore, diverse performances will be held throughout the year, including the play "Mangwon-dong Brothers" in April and the traditional Korean music concert "Pungryu Ilga" in October.
The exhibition space will reinforce its identity as an "exhibition hall with stories." From September to October, the "Daegu Cultural Dictionary" exhibition, highlighting artists from Jung-gu, Lee In-seong and Seo Dong-jin, will shed new light on local art history. In November, the "Art Donation Exhibition" will focus on art sharing. The "Glass Box" installation art project series will continue to attract audiences throughout the year, from February to April and from October to December.
An official from Bongsan Cultural Center said, “The selection for three national public contest projects is a result of public recognition of Bongsan Cultural Center’s content planning capabilities and operational expertise,” and added, “We will strive to become a public arts center that discovers local creative content as a theater centered on plays and musicals and grows together with young artists.”
