올해 축제는 ‘잡게 즐거움, 드시게 영덕대게’를 슬로건으로, 관광객이 직접 참여하는 체험형 프로그램을 중심으로 구성됐다.

대표 프로그램인 ‘영덕대게 낚시’와 ‘통발잡이 체험’은 매일 오전 10시와 오후 1시 두 차례 운영되며, 체험권은 시작 30분 전부터 현장에서 구매할 수 있다. 다만 체험 물량이 한정돼 주말에는 조기 매진될 가능성이 있어 방문객의 주의가 요구된다.

이와 함께 인기 프로그램인 ‘대게 싣고 달리기’는 미니 토너먼트 방식으로 진행되며, 우승자에게는 협찬사가 제공하는 특별 경품이 주어진다.

축제장에서는 다양한 참여형 이벤트도 마련된다. 최상품 박달대게를 반값에 판매하는 ‘번개 경매’를 비롯해 특별가 판매 행사인 ‘추진위원회가 쏜다’, 완장을 착용한 진행요원을 찾는 ‘완장 찬 사람을 잡아라’ 등 현장 이벤트가 수시로 진행돼 방문객에게 색다른 재미를 제공할 예정이다.

공연 프로그램도 다채롭게 펼쳐진다. 축제 첫날에는 지역 예술인이 참여하는 ‘영덕대게 프린지 공연’이 열리며, 둘째 날에는 ‘세대공감 콘서트’가 진행된다. 28일에는 가수 전유진이 출연하는 ‘영덕 ON 스테이지’가, 마지막 날인 29일에는 가수 황민호 공연과 함께 불꽃쇼가 축제의 대미를 장식한다.

영덕군은 방문객 편의 향상을 위해 스마트 서비스도 도입한다. 지난해 호응을 얻은 키오스크 주문 시스템에 이어 일부 부스에는 ‘스마트 줄서기’를 시범 적용하고, 화장실 혼잡도 안내 서비스도 운영할 계획이다.

또한 바가지요금 근절을 위해 ‘가격정찰제 모니터링 봉사단’을 운영하고, 모든 부스에 가격표를 부착해 투명한 축제 환경 조성에 나선다.

이상호 영덕대게축제추진위원장은 “내년 30주년을 앞두고 올해 축제는 체험과 먹거리, 운영 전반에서 완성도를 높였다”며 “방문객들이 영덕대게의 참맛과 축제의 즐거움을 동시에 느낄 수 있길 바란다”고 말했다.
