우리나라는 매일 7명, 매년 2,400여명이 산재로 죽어가는 OECD 산재사망률 1등 국가이다. 2015년 기준 10만 명당 산재 사망자수가 영국이 0.4명인데 반해 한국은 10.1명으로 영국의 20배에 달한다.

기업이 안전의무를 위반해 발생하는 중대재해는 기업에 의한 ‘범죄’라는 점을 분명히 해야 한다. 재해로 인명사고가 발생한 경우 해당 기업과 그 기업의 경영책임자에 대해 엄정한 법적 책임을 물어야 한다.

이번 정기국회에서는 오늘도 무사히 가족의 품으로 돌아갈 수 있는 안전한 일터와 대한민국을 만들기 위해 ‘중대재해기업처벌법’을 제정해야 한다.

정의당 대구시당은 노동자당원들의 출퇴근길 1인 시위와 함께, 11월 5일 오후 4시 대구시의회에서 강은미 국회의원이 참여하는 ‘중대재해기업처벌법 제정을 위한 토론회’를 개최한다.

정의당 대구시당은 법제정의 절박성을 시민들에게 알리고, 이번 정기국회에서 ‘중대재해기업처벌법’이 제정 될 수 있도록 다양한 활동을 이어갈 예정이다.
