이만희 의원은 기자회견을 통해 “그 어느 때보다 어려운 시기를 겪은 농어업계에 대한 정부의 지원이 절실하지만, 올해 농업 예산은 정부 총예산의 3% 벽을 지키지 못했고 긴급재난지원금 대상에서도 제외됐다.”며정부의 농어업 홀대가 도를 넘어섰다고 비판했다.

그러면서 이 의원은 “코로나19 사태가 장기화되는 가운데 국내 농어업을보호하고 감소하는 농가소득의 안정화를 위한 대책 마련의 첫발로 곧 다가오는 설 명절을 앞두고 하루라도 빨리 청탁금지법상 농수산물 선물 가액을 현행 10만원에서 20만원으로 상향해야 한다.”고 주장했다.

이만희 의원은 “지난 추석 농수산물 선물 가액 상향 조치로 매출액이 전년 대비 평균 7% 이상 증가한 것으로 나타나 소비 활성화 효과가입증됐고, 어려움에 처한 농어업인을 배려하고 고통을 분담하자는 국민의공감과 이해가 우선되었다는 점에서 더욱 의미가 있었다.”고 강조했다.
