【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 15일 경주 코모도호텔에서 ‘2022 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스 기부자 감사의 밤’ 행사를 개최했다고 16일 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스가 학교를 꾸준히 후원해 온 기부자들에게 감사의 마음을 전하기 위해 개최한 것으로, 학교법인 동국대학교 이사장 성우 스님과 WISE캠퍼스 기부자 스님, 불자, 동문, 기업체, 장학회 임원 등 120여명을 초청하여 진행했다.

기부자 감사의 밤 행사는 삼귀의례를 시작으로, 내빈소개, WISE 비전 영상 상영, 환영사 및 치사, 기금 현황 및 주요 모금 사업 안내, 샌드아트, 찾아가는 기부자 소개, 축하공연, 사홍서원 순으로 진행됐다.

이영경 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스총장은 환영사에서 “어려운 여건에도 불구하고 기부자님들께 진심으로 감사를 드린다. 기부자님들의 성원 덕분에 대구경북지역 같은 규모 대학 중에서 1위에 이를 정도로 많은 기부금이 모이고 있다. 기부자님의 귀한 뜻을 잊지 않고 동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 변화와 혁신을 계속해서 앞으로도 불교 천년을 이어 미래 가치를 창출하는 대학으로 지속 발전해 나갈 수 있도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 감사의 뜻을 밝혔다.

학교법인 동국대학교 이사장 성우스님은 치사에서 “1978년 교육불사를 위해 WISE캠퍼스가 경주에 설립된 이후 캠퍼스의 발전은 여기 계시는 기부자님들의 열렬한 관심과 애정의 결과물이라 생각한다. WISE캠퍼스가 불교문화 발전, 인재 양성에 기여하도록 앞으로도 많은 성원 바란다”고 말했다.

Dongguk University WISE Campus invites donors and expresses gratitude

Dongguk University WISE Campus announced on the 16th that it held the ‘2022 Dongguk University WISE Campus Donor Appreciation Night’ event at the Commodore Hotel in Gyeongju on the 15th.

  This event was held by Dongguk University WISE Campus to express gratitude to the donors who have consistently supported the school. It was conducted by inviting people.

  The Donor Appreciation Night event started with the Three Ghosts ceremony, followed by introduction of guests, WISE vision video screening, welcome speech and farewell speech, information on the current status of the fund and major fundraising projects, sand art, introduction of visiting donors, celebratory performance, and Sahong Seowon.

  Lee Young-kyung, President of Dongguk University's WISE Campus, said in his welcome speech, "I sincerely thank the donors despite the difficult conditions. Thanks to the support of the donors, a large number of donations are being collected to the extent that it ranks first among universities of the same size in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area. Dongguk University WISE Campus will continue to change and innovate without forgetting the precious wishes of the donors, and will do its best to continue developing into a university that creates future values following the millennium of Buddhism.”

  Sungwoo Seong, chairman of the board of directors of Dongguk University, said in his address, “Since the WISE Campus was established in Gyeongju in 1978 for the sake of education, I believe that the development of the campus is the result of the enthusiastic interest and affection of donors here. I hope that the WISE Campus will continue to support and contribute to the development of Buddhist culture and the cultivation of talented people.”
