이번 윈터캠프는 브라질 상파울루 한류문화원에서 추천한 브라질 단기 연수생 25명이 참가하여 △ 동국대 WISE캠퍼스에서 한국 불교문화 콘텐츠가 융합된 기초 한국어를 학습, △ UNESCO 세계문화유산인 석굴암과 불국사 탐방, △ 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 선센터에서 참선 및 명상 프로그램 체험 △ 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 정각원에서 불교 문화 체험 등을 진행했다.

이유경 동국대 WISE캠퍼스 국제교류처장은 “이번 윈터캠프는 코로나 전인 2019년에 운영했던 프로그램을 3년 만에 다시 개최한 것으로, 한국어와 더불어 불교 문화 체험을 특화하여 진행하며 참가자들의 호응을 얻었다” 고 설명했다.

이유경 국제교류처장은 “동국대학교 건학위원회 중점 사업 중 하나인 불교 세계화 사업과 연계하여 추진한 이번 윈터캠프를 통해 비불교권 국가인 남미지역 학생들이 한국 불교문화를 체험하는 것은 해외 불교 교류 확대에도 그 가치가 크다고 생각하며, 앞으로도 동국대건학이념을 바탕으로 특화된 해외 교류 프로그램을 확대하여 글로벌 경쟁력을 강화해 나갈 계획”이라고 밝혔다.
