【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 지난 23일 학생회관 3층 스페이스 위콤버 아외데크에서 창의적 미래인재 양성을 위한 공간으로 새롭게 구축된 ‘스페이스 위콤버’ 개소식을 개최했다고 24일 밝혔다.

‘스페이스 위콤버(Wicomvor)’는 동국대학교 교훈인 지혜, 자비, 정진의 영문 단어(Wisdom, Compassion, Endeavor)의 조합한 이름으로, 건학이념을 구현하는 의미를 담고 있다.

스페이스 위콤버는 대학교육혁신지원사업으로 학생들의 복지증진과 교육인프라 개선에 중점 을 두고 기존 학생회관의 노후된 시설을 전면적으로 개선하였고 오픈에 앞서 시범운영을 통해 학생들이 사용해 보면서 느끼는 의견을 수렴하여, 학생을 위한 체험활동 공간으로 새롭게 만들어졌다.

스페이스 위콤버는 학생회관 각 층을 동국대학교의 교훈인 지혜, 자비, 정진을 재해석한 테마로 공간을 조성했다.

3층은 자연친화적 공간으로, 치유, 휴식의 효과를 극대화하고 4층은 공유와 공감을 컨셉으로 한 창의형 학습공간으로, 5층은 지속, 노력, 개발을 컨셉으로 아이디어팩토리 개념을 도입한 창의 학습 공간으로 조성했다.

또한 각 층을 잇는 복도와 계단에는 학생들의 창작 성과물을 전시하는 공간으로 활용될 계획이다. 

이영경 동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스총장은 “학생들이 공간을 공유하고 학교가 교육 혁신의 방향으로 공간을 설계하여 오늘 ‘스페이스 위콤버’ 개소식을 맞게 되었다.“라며 “학생들이 새롭게 마련된 스페이스 위콤버에서 자유롭게 소통하고 창의성과 역량을 마음껏 펼칠 수 있기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
