【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=동국대학교 WISE캠퍼스는 2024년부터 2026년까지 3년간 지역특화청년무역전문가 양성 사업(이하 GTEP)을 시행하게 될 전국 20개 대학에 최종 선정됐다고 28일 밝혔다.

동국대 WISE캠퍼스는 3년간 6억여 원의 사업비로, 중앙아시아를 특화 지역으로 전 세계 비즈니스 현장에서 활약할 청년무역전문가를 양성한다.

GTEP은 2007년부터 산업통상자원부가 주관하고, 한국무역협회가 운영하는 사업으로, 융합형 무역 실무 및 현장 실습 교육을 통해 맞춤형 지역 전문가를 양성하고, 지방 내수기업 및 수출 초보기업의 해외 시장 진출을 지원하는 사업이다.

산업통상자원부와 한국무역협회는 사업단 모집을 위해 지난 10월 30일부터 11월 24일까지 참가 대학 공모를 진행하였으며, 접수된 26개 대학 중 현장 교육 시설 검증, 사업 추진 계획을 심사해 최종 20개 대학을 선정했다.

GTEP 사업단은 매년 기수별로 운영되며, 2024년 1월에 시작되는 18기 사업에는 약 800명의 학생이 참가해 2025년 3월까지 15개월간 480시간 이상의 무역 실무‧해외 지역 특화 교육, 해외 전시회 참가 등 현장 실습, 중소기업과의 산학 협력을 통한 수출 활동을 진행한다.

동국대 GTEP사업단은 기업과 산학협력을 통해 현장 실습 180시간 등 강도 높은 교육을 통해 미래 청년무역 전문가를 배출할 수 있도록 역량을 키우는 데 앞장서고 있다.
