사단법인 아시아포럼21(이사장 변태석)이 지자체-대학 협력기반 지역혁신(RIS) 사업 일환으로 대구지역 초, 중학생 및 부모, 대학생, 시니어 등 1천여명을 대상으로 실시하고 있는 '2024 찾아가는 디지털 미디어 문해력 스쿨'』이 바로 그것.

이 사업은 1)초, 중학생을 대상으로 하는 '찾아가는 학교 디지털 미디어 문해력 교실'을 비롯해 2)초등생 및 학부모, 시니어 대상의 '지역 기관과 함께하는 미디어 문해력 프로그램' 그리고 지역 대학생들을 위한 '대학생 디지털 리터러시 역량 강화 프로그램'이 운영되고 있다.

아시아포럼21에 따르면 지난 8월 말부터 대구 달서구 도원중학교를 시작으로 시행된 ‘찾아가는 학교 디지털 미디어 문해력 교실’은 자유학기제, 창의적 체험활동, 진로 특강 및 동아리 활동의 일환으로 ① 디지털 문해력 향상 기본 프로그램, ② 반일제 · 전일제 체험 활동 프로그램, ③ 교과 연계 활동 프로그램, ④ ‘디지털 시민성’ 주제 특강 등을 실시하고 있다. 이 프로그램에는 대구 시내 8개 초, 중학교 660여명의 학생들이 참여하고 있다. 

참여 학생들에게는 디지털 미디어 홍수시대 올바른 미디어 콘텐츠 소비자 및 생산자로서 다양한 학생 활동 중심의 미디어 활용 수업을 통해 기본적인 디지털 문해력 체득은 물론, 디지털 미디어 이용에 대한 문제 감수성을 향상시키는 동기부여를 제공하고 있다.

9월 달성군 소재 달성남부복지관을 첫 시작으로 '지역기관과 함께 하는 미디어 문해력 프로그램'도 대구시내 공공도서관 및 노인복지센터 등을 거점으로 부모와 초등자녀를 위한 '우리 가족 디지털 미디어 캠프', 시니어 대상의 '스마트한 디지털 미디어 생활'을 운영 중이며, 대구시 수성구 용학도서관을 비롯해 대구시 군위군소재 삼국유사군위도서관, 대구시 북구 구수산도서관 등 총 9곳의 대구 시내 공공도서관 및 노인복지 센터가 지역 기관으로 참가하고 있다. 

오는 11월 말까지 이어지는 '24년 찾아가는 디지털 미디어 문해력 스쿨' 사업은 대구 시민의 미디어 리터러시 역량 강화와 ‘디지털 시민성(digital Citizenship) 함양을 위한 대상별 맞춤형 교육 및 체험 프로그램 제공을 목적으로 한 “지자체-대학 협력기반 지역혁신(RIS) 사업”으로, 대구광역시를 비롯해 교육부, 한국연구재단, 경북대학교, 대구경북지역혁신플랫폼 전자정보기기사업단, 커뮤니티와 경제, 경북대학교 미디어공공성센터 등이 공동으로 참여하고 있다.

 A program that strengthens the literacy of local residents and the literacy capacity of college students is receiving attention.

The '2024 Mobile Digital Media Literacy School' is being implemented by the Asia Forum 21 (Chairman Tae-seok Byun) as part of the Local Government-University Cooperation-based Regional Innovation (RIS) project targeting approximately 1,000 elementary and middle school students, parents, college students, and seniors in the Daegu area.

This project includes 1) the 'Mobile School Digital Media Literacy Classroom' for elementary and middle school students, 2) the 'Media Literacy Program with Local Organizations' for elementary school students, parents, and seniors, and the 'University Digital Literacy Capacity Enhancement Program' for local college students.

According to Asai Forum 21, the ‘Visiting School Digital Media Literacy Classroom’, which has been implemented since late August at Dowon Middle School in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, is implementing ① basic programs to improve digital literacy, ② half-day and full-day experience activities, ③ curriculum-related activity programs, and ④ special lectures on the topic of ‘digital citizenship’ as part of the free semester system, creative experience activities, career special lectures, and club activities. Approximately 660 students from eight elementary and middle schools in Daegu are participating in this program.

The participating students are provided with motivation to acquire basic digital literacy as well as to improve their sensitivity to issues related to digital media use through various student activity-centered media utilization classes as proper consumers and producers of media content in the era of digital media flooding.

Starting with the Dalseong Southern Welfare Center in Dalseong-gun in September, the 'Media Literacy Program with Local Organizations' is also operating the 'Our Family Digital Media Camp' for parents and elementary school children and the 'Smart Digital Media Life' for seniors based on public libraries and senior welfare centers in Daegu. A total of 9 public libraries and senior welfare centers in Daegu are participating as local organizations, including the Yonghak Library in Suseong-gu, Daegu, the Samguk Yusa Gunwi Library in Gunwi-gun, Daegu, and the Gususan Library in Buk-gu, Daegu. The '24-Year Mobile Digital Media Literacy School' project, which will continue until the end of November, is a "Local Government-University Cooperation-Based Regional Innovation (RIS) Project" aimed at strengthening the media literacy capacity of Daegu citizens and providing customized education and experience programs for each target group to foster 'digital citizenship'. Daegu Metropolitan City, the Ministry of Education, the National Research Foundation of Korea, Kyungpook National University, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Regional Innovation Platform Electronic Information Device Business Group, Community and Economy, and Kyungpook National University Media Publicness Center are jointly participating in the project.
