이번 훈련은 원전 주변 위기 상황 발생 시 신속하고 체계적인 대응 능력을 점검하기 위해 마련됐으며, 한울본부 청원경찰과 특수경비대, 자체 소방대를 포함해 160여 명이 참여했다.

훈련은 테러범의 원전 침투 상황을 가정해 ▲미상 드론 대응 ▲화재 진압 ▲해양 수색 및 차단 작전 등 실전형 시나리오로 진행됐다. 참가자들은 드론 조종자를 조기 식별·제압하는 초기 대응을 비롯해 정문 돌파 상황에서의 현장 통제와 군·경 합동 작전을 통해 테러범을 완전히 제압하는 과정을 훈련했다.

이세용 본부장은 “기본에 충실한 방호태세를 갖춰 안전한 발전소 운영에 최선을 다하겠다”며 “유관기관과의 협력 체계를 강화하고 반복 훈련을 통해 어떠한 위협에도 단호히 대응할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Se-yong) conducted a joint civil-public-private-military-police-fire service joint defense training with related Uljin County organizations around the Hanul 2 Power Plant on the 19th.

The training was designed to assess the ability to respond quickly and systematically in the event of a crisis around the nuclear power plant. Approximately 160 personnel, including Hanul Headquarters' own police, special security forces, and its own fire brigade, participated.

The training simulated a terrorist infiltration into the nuclear power plant and included realistic scenarios such as responding to an unidentified drone, suppressing a fire, and conducting a maritime search and interception operation. Participants learned how to identify and subdue the drone operator early, control the scene after breaching the main gate, and completely subdue the terrorist through joint military-police operations.
