한국수력원자력(주) 한울원자력본부(본부장 박범수, 이하 한울본부)는 27일 울진군 북면 석호항에서 월성원전 온배수를 이용해 양식한 어패류 5만 미를 방류했다고 밝혔다.

박범수 본부장과 울진군 어촌계협의회장 등이 직접 선박에 승선해 석호항 주변 해역에 강도다리 치어 3만 미를 방류했다.

전복치패 2만 미는 북면 및 나곡 어촌계에 제공하여 주변 해역 암반에 부착할 예정이다.

한울본부는 지난 1999년부터 매년 어패류 방류사업을 통해 원전 온배수의 유용성과 청정성을 널리 알려왔다. 올해까지 23년간 인근 어촌계에 강도다리‧전복 등 총 251만 미의 치어와 치패를 방류했다.

울진군 주변 해역에 방류한 어패류는 풍부한 수산자원을 조성해 지역 어민들의 지속적인 소득 증진에 이바지하고 있다.
