【브레이크뉴스 경북 칠곡】이성현 기자=경북과학대학교는 지난 11일 오전 대학 중앙관 시청각실에서 ‘제25회 나이팅게일 선서식’을 가졌다고 12일 밝혔다.

이날 선서식은 신종 코로나바이러스 감염증(코로나19) 예방을 위해 내외빈 초청 없이 간호학과 교수와 학생들만 참석한 채 진행됐다.

또 촛불 대신 전자촛불을 사용하고 참석자 전원 발열 검사 후 마스크를 착용했다.

나이팅게일 선서식은 간호학과의 전통 행사로 임상 실습을 앞둔 간호학과 학생들이 근대 간호의 선구자인 플로렌스 나이팅게일의 숭고한 정신을 이어받아 예비 간호인으로서 사명을 다하겠다고 다짐하는 자리다.

이날 선서식에 참여한 간호학과 2학년 재학생 138명은 전자촛불을 켜고 “간호사로서 사람들의 안녕을 위해 사랑과 봉사로 헌신하겠다”고 다짐했다.

강향숙 경북과학대 간호학과 학부장은 “촛불과 하얀 가운이 상징하는 봉사와 희생정신, 이웃을 따뜻하게 돌보는 간호정신을 가슴에 새기고 아름다운 마음을 지닌 간호사가 되길 염원한다”고 당부했다.
