【브레이크뉴스 포항】오주호 기자=한국로봇융합연구원(원장 여준구, 이하 KIRO)이 2019년 10월 포항 신항만에 개소한KIRO 안전로봇실증센터를 통해 포항지역 내 로봇기업 육성 및 타지역 로봇기업 유치에 박차를 가하고 있다고 30일 밝혔다.

특히, KIRO는 실증센터를 활용해 ‘기업 입주공간 제공’, ‘시제품 제작지원’, ‘기술지원(기술이전 및 공동R&D 추진)’,‘실증Test시설 지원’ 등의서비스를 제공해로봇기업들이제품을 고도화하는 등 지역 중심의로봇 상용화를 위해 다양한 기업지원 활동을 추진하고 있다.

먼저 실증센터에는 안전로봇분야 제품 또는 부품을 개발‧판매하는 기업들이 입주하고 있으며, 창업 3년 이내 스타트업부터 30년 이상의기업까지 입주해 기업 간의 활발한 기술교류 및 협업을 통한 신제품기획 및 제품고도화가 진행되는 등 유기적인 협업생태계가 구축되어있다.

특히, 실증센터에 입주한 8개사 중, 6개사를 포항으로 신규유치했으며, 올해는 코로나19 등의 악재에도 불구하고 입주시점 대비 입주기업의 매출 36%, 고용 14%가 증가할 것으로 예상되고 있다.

또한 KIRO는포항시와 경상북도의 지원으로 지역 내 안전로봇‧재난현장로봇 기업육성을 위해 ‘재난현장 로봇활용 기업지원사업’,‘지능형 로봇제품 상용화 촉진사업” 등을 추진하고 있다.

현재 ’재난현장 로봇활용 기업지원사업‘을 통해 총 5개사를지원하고, 시장의 요구에 따른 제품 업그레이드해 재난안전분야 로봇제품‧부품 등의 기획 및 시제품 제작지원을 진행하고 있다.

KIRO는 상기 5개사에 대해 연구원 개발기술의 이전을 통한 신사업기획지원(3개사), 투자유치 지원(1개사), 해외진출 지원(1개사), 중‧대형 정부R&D 등연계(1개사)의 다양한 지원을 바탕으로 매출 28%, 고용 18%의 성장을 이룰 것으로 예상되고 있다.

아울러 실증센터는 입주한 기업 및 협력기업과 정기적인기술교류를 통해 관내 로봇기업의 기술적 성장기반 확보지원 및 제품의기술력 고도화를 적극적인 지원을 하고 있다.

이를 위해 기술이전 및 공동R&D 추진 등의 다양한 기술지원으로 2020년에는 기술교류의 성과로 입주기업 중 3개사에5건의 로봇기술을 이전했다.

이와 함께 실증센터 내 TEST시설을 관내‧외 로봇기업이 활용할 수 있도록 적극적인 홍보로 2019년도부터 LG전자 등 대기업이 실증TEST를 위해 포항을 찾았으며, 그 중 삼성엔지니어링은 실증TEST중인 입주기업의 제품의현장 적용 여부를 확인하는 등 실증TEST 과정에서도 대기업·중소기업 간 협력사항 도출및 기업 간 연계 제품개발 등이 활발히이뤄지고 있다.

특히 실증센터가 지원하는 ’로봇기업입주, 로봇기업 육성, 기술이전,제품실증테스트‘ 전주기 기업지원 서비스를 바탕으로 개소 1년 만에 해당 기업들이 가시적인성과를 창출하고 있다.

여준구 한국로봇융합연구원장은 “KIRO 안전로봇실증센터 내 실증TEST 시설을 전국의 안전로봇분야 연관 기업들이 편리하게 사용할 수 있도록 지원할 것”이라며 “센터가 위치한 ‘영일만3 일반산업단지’ 내 우수 로봇기업 유치에 지속적으로 힘써 포항의 신성장산업 로봇 플랫폼으로 성장 할 수 있도록 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
