한국로봇융합연구원은 오는 12일 구미시첨단기업1로 17(GERI 內)에 위치한 로봇직업혁신센터 건축 부지에서 산업통상자원부, 경상북도, 구미시, 한국로봇산업진흥원 등 유관기관 관계자 50여명이 참석한 가운데 한국로봇융합연구원 로봇직업혁신센터 착공식을 개최한다.

이날 착공식에서는 국내 최대/최초 규모로 구축되는 로봇전문교육시설인 로봇직업혁신센터구축의 공식화 및 성공적인 사업 추진 VISION을 표명할 예정이다.

착공식에 이어 현대로보틱스, 로보스타, 두산로보틱스, 뉴로메카, 한국오므론제어기기, 쿠카로보틱스가 참여하는 로봇직업혁신센터 활성화를 위한 MOU도 진행된다.

로봇직업혁신센터는 총사업비 295억원(국비 144.1억, 지방비(경북도/구미시) 150.9억)을 투입해 로봇활용 확대에 따른 신규 직업훈련 수요 대응 및 제조기업 경쟁력 제고를 위한 로봇직업교육센터를 구축하며 주요시설로는 산업용 로봇, 협동로봇, AGV 등 실습 및 시험교육장, 로봇활용 공정 SI 통합 교육·테스트장 등 로봇활용 전문 직업 교육 시설이 들어서게 된다. 

한국로봇융합연구원 관계자는 "4차 산업혁명으로 전산업 분야에 로봇기술이 투입되면서 새로운 일자리에 대한 수요가 증가함에 따라 로봇직업혁신센터에서는 산업용로봇, 협동로봇 등 실습교육 위주로 로봇오퍼레이더, 로봇코디네이터를 양성하는 미래형일자리의 거점으로 거듭나고자 한다."고 밝혔다.
