【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=김장호 구미시장이 관내 방산업체인 한화시스템(주)과 LIG넥스원(주)을 연달아 방문해 지역 방위산업 육성을 위한 협력체계를공고히 하고 있다.

시에 따르면 김 시장은 30일 오후 한화시스템 구미사업장을방문해기업현황을 청취하고 생산현장을 돌아보았으며 오는 12월 5일에는 LIG넥스원을방문할 예정이다.

LIG넥스원과 한화시스템은 올 초 천궁-Ⅱ를 UAE에 4조원대 수출을 하며 K-방산에 대한 세계적 인식을 바꾸고 미래기술 확보 및 국방·민수 기술교류 확대를 통해 국내 방위산업을 선도하고 있다.

특히 한화시스템 이기택 구미사업장장과 LIG넥스원 박배호 구미생산본부장은 최근 창립한 ‘구미 방위산업 기업협의회’ 공동 초대 회장을맡아 지역 내 방산 관련 기업들의 네트워크 활성화 등 방위산업 육성을위해 노력 중이다.

김 시장은 “지역의 대표방산기업들의 시설투자 확대에 감사드리며, 시에서도 아낌없는 지원으로 지역 방위산업 육성에 최선을 다하겠다.”고 밝혔다.

Kim Jang-ho, mayor of Gumi, has visited Hanwha Systems Co., Ltd. and LIG Nex1 Co., Ltd., which are defense companies in the jurisdiction, in succession to solidify a cooperative system to foster the local defense industry.

 According to the city, Mayor Kim visited the Gumi plant of Hanwha Systems on the afternoon of the 30th, listened to the company's status, looked around the production site, and is scheduled to visit LIG Nex1 on December 5th.

 LIG Nex1 and Hanwha Systems exported Cheongung-II to the UAE for 4 trillion won earlier this year, changing the global perception of K-Defense and leading the domestic defense industry by securing future technology and expanding defense and civil technology exchanges.

 In particular, Ki-taek Lee, head of the Gumi plant of Hanwha Systems, and Bae-ho Park, head of the Gumi production headquarters of LIG Nex1, served as co-inaugural presidents of the recently founded ‘Gumi Defense Industry Company Council’, making efforts to promote the defense industry by activating the network of defense industry-related companies in the region.

Mayor Kim said, “I am grateful for the expansion of facility investment by representative defense companies in the region, and the city will do its best to foster the local defense industry with generous support.”
