20일, 한국교육학술정보원에 따르면 해당 연구는 지난해 9월 14일부터 10월 7일까지 약 3주간, 시도별, 지역규모별, 성별 학생수 등을 고려하여 전국 초⸱중학생의 약 1%(총 2만 6천여명)를 대상으로 실시되었다.

연구 결과 2022년 디지털 리터러시 평균 점수는 초등학생 17.67점, 중학생 17.13점으로, 2021년(초등학생 17.43점, 중학생 16.66점)과 코로나19 이전인 2019년(초등학생 16.47점, 중학생 14.65점)에 비해 다소 높게 나타나 우리나라 학생들의 디지털 리터러시 점수는 지속적으로 향상되고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

2022년 디지털 리터러시 점수는 대체적으로 고학년이 저학년보다, 여학생이 남학생보다, 대도시 학생이 중소도시보다 높게 나타나 이전 연도와 비슷한 경향성을 보였으며 영향을 미치는 배경 변인으로는 학교와 가정의 디지털 인프라 접근성, 학생들의 디지털 기기 활용 효능감 등이 있는 것으로 확인되었다.

이번 연구에서는 학생뿐 아니라, 교사 852명(초등 491명, 중등 361명)을 대상으로 디지털 리터러시 교육 활성화를 위해 필요한 정책 지원에 대한 설문도 진행되었다.

이를 통해 초⸱중등 교사 모두 ‘디지털 리터러시 교육을 위한 인프라 지원’(초등 66.8%, 중등 65.1%), ‘디지털 리터러시 교과서⸱교육자료 개발 및 무료 보급’(초등 58.7%, 중등 54.3%), ‘교사 전문성 개발을 위한 연수 지원’(초등 53.4%, 중등 57.9%)이 필요하다는 요구가 높은 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
