【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=한국교육학술정보원(원장 정제영, 이하 케리스)이 8일 광주교육대학교(총장 허승준, 이하 광주교대)와 ‘미래교육 혁신을 위한 업무협약’을 체결하고 디지털 기반 교육 혁신에 나섰다.

이번 협약은 디지털 대전환 시대에 대응해 미래 교원 양성과 교수학습 혁신을 촉진하고, 지속 가능한 교육 혁신 생태계를 구축하기 위한 협력 체계를 마련하는 데 목적이 있다.

양 기관은 협약을 통해 △미래 교원 양성을 위한 연수 체계 구축 △인공지능(AI) 및 교육데이터 기반 맞춤형 학습 지원과 교육 격차 해소 △우수 디지털 교육 도구 발굴 및 현장 적용·확산을 위한 시험대 운영 △교수학습 혁신 지원을 위한 디지털 교육 플랫폼 연계 및 고도화 △교육행·재정시스템 활용 관련 예비교사 교육 협력 등 다양한 분야에서 협력을 추진할 계획이다.

특히 AI와 교육데이터를 활용한 맞춤형 교육 지원과 디지털 플랫폼 고도화를 통해 교원의 전문성을 강화하고, 교육 현장의 디지털 전환을 가속화하는 데 중점을 둘 방침이다.

정제영 케리스 원장은 “광주교육대학교와의 협력을 통해 예비 교원부터 현직 교원까지 AI와 데이터 기반 교육 혁신 역량을 체계적으로 강화할 수 있는 기반을 마련하겠다”며 “이번 협약이 교원의 지속적인 전문성 향상과 우리 교육의 디지털 전환을 앞당기는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

KERIS and Gwangju National University of Education Join Hands for Future Education Innovation… Strengthening Cooperation on AI-Based Teacher Training

KERIS (President Jeong Je-young) signed a "Memorandum of Understanding for Future Education Innovation" with Gwangju National University of Education (President Heo Seung-jun) on the 8th, embarking on digital-based educational innovation.

The purpose of this agreement is to establish a cooperative framework to foster the training of future teachers and innovation in teaching and learning in response to the era of digital transformation, as well as to build a sustainable ecosystem for educational innovation.

Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to pursue cooperation in various fields, including: establishing a training system for cultivating future teachers; supporting personalized learning based on artificial intelligence (AI) and educational data to bridge the educational gap; operating a testing ground to discover excellent digital education tools and apply and disseminate them in the field; linking and enhancing digital education platforms to support innovation in teaching and learning; and cooperating on pre-service teacher education regarding the utilization of educational administration and financial systems. In particular, the plan is to focus on strengthening the professionalism of teachers and accelerating the digital transformation of the educational field through customized educational support utilizing AI and educational data, as well as the advancement of digital platforms.

Jeong Je-young, President of KERIS, stated, “Through cooperation with Gwangju National University of Education, we will lay the foundation to systematically strengthen the capabilities of teachers, from prospective teachers to current teachers, in AI and data-based educational innovation.” He added, “I hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to accelerate the digital transformation of our education and the continuous improvement of teachers’ professionalism.”
