21일 청도군에 따르면 이번 현장 방문은 침수 피해가 심했던 이서 대곡 자연재해위험개선 지구와 상상마루 조성사업장(구, 시외버스터미널 부지), 경부선 청도역사 신축 현장 등 주민의 안전과 직접 관련되고 많은 주민이 이용하는 대형 사업장 위주로 방문하여 추진 현황을 종합적으로 점검 하고, 현장의 목소리를 청취하여 사업의 가속도를 높이기 위해 추진됐다.

대곡 자연재해위험개선지구 정비사업은 침수 위험을 방지하기 위 해 하천정비, 교량개체, 배수시설물 설치 등을 하는 것으로 2021년 3 월에 착공하여 현재 3차분까지 준공을 한 상태로 2025년 12월에 총괄 공사를 준공할 예정이다.

청도 상상마루 조성사업은 청도 공용버스터미널 부지에 지하 1층에 서 지상 5층 규모로 대중교통 환승 대기소, 상생협력상가, 건강 케어 공 간, 문화 스포츠 공간 등으로 구성되며 2023년 8월에 착공하여 내년도 6 월에 준공할 예정으로 지역 상권에 새로운 활력을 불어넣을 뿐만 아니라 청도군의 랜드마크로써의 역할이 기대된다.

청도읍사무소와 건강지원센터, 행복주택을 조성하는 도시재생뉴딜사업의 경우 시공사가 자재 및 인건비 상승을 이유로 계약을 포기하여 중단상태였으나, 김 군수가 부임하면서 사업의 문제점을 파악하고 LH와 끊임없이 협의한 결과, 새로운 업체가 선정되어 올해 12월에 착공할 예정이다.
