【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=iM뱅크(아이엠뱅크·은행장 황병우)는 19일 서울 삼성동 코엑스에서 열린 ‘제51회 국가품질경영대회’에서 국가품질혁신상 ESG경영 부문 국무총리 표창을 받았다고 밝혔다.

산업통상자원부와 국가기술표준원이 주최하고 한국표준협회가 주관하는 국가품질경영대회는 산업 현장에서 품질혁신 활동을 통해 뛰어난 성과를 거두고 국가 경제 및 산업 경쟁력 강화에 기여한 기관을 선정해 포상하는 국내 대표 품질 행사다.

iM뱅크는 지속가능한 금융 서비스 구축과 사회적 책임 강화 등 ESG경영 전반에서 꾸준히 실천해 온 노력이 높게 평가돼 국무총리 표창을 수상했다.

특히 2025년 한 해 동안 환경(E), 사회(S), 지배구조(G) 각 부문에서 두드러진 성과가 주목받았다.

환경 분야에서는 K-택소노미 심사 시스템 도입, ESG 성과평가(KPI) 운영, 폐전자전기제품 수거·재활용 활성화 등이 긍정적인 평가를 받았다.

사회 분야에서는 적십자 인도주의 활동 유공 국무총리상 수상, 자체 인권경영선언문 제정, 블라인드 공정채용 시행, 건강친화기업 인증 획득 등 다양한 사회 가치 실현 활동이 눈에 띄었다.

또 지배구조 분야에서는 ESG 거버넌스 체계 확립과 서스틴베스트 2024 종합평가 AA등급 획득 등 투명하고 책임 있는 경영 기반을 구축한 점이 높은 점수를 받았다.

황병우 iM뱅크 은행장은 “지역 기반 최초의 시중은행으로서 지속 가능한 금융을 최우선 가치로 삼아 사회적 책임을 다해 온 결과”라며 “앞으로도 책임 있는 ESG경영을 더욱 강화해 변화하는 금융환경 속에서 사회적 가치 창출에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.

iM Bank received the Prime Minister's Commendation in recognition of its consistent efforts in ESG management, including establishing sustainable financial services and strengthening social responsibility.

Notably, the company's outstanding performance in the Environment (E), Society (S), and Governance (G) categories throughout 2025 garnered attention.

In the environmental sector, positive evaluations were received for the introduction of the K-Taxonomy review system, the operation of ESG performance evaluations (KPIs), and the promotion of collection and recycling of waste electronic and electrical equipment.

In the social sector, various social value-creating initiatives stood out, including receiving the Prime Minister's Award for Merit in Red Cross Humanitarian Activities, establishing an internal human rights management declaration, implementing blind fair hiring, and obtaining health-friendly company certification.

Furthermore, in the governance sector, high marks were given to establishing a transparent and responsible management foundation, including the establishment of an ESG governance system and receiving an AA rating in the Sustainbest 2024 comprehensive assessment.
