원희룡 국민의힘 대선 경선 후보는 14일 대구 수성호텔에서 열린 아시아 포럼 21 전책토론회에 참석해 문재인 대통령과 이재명 더불어민주당 대통령 후보자의 만남을 ‘담합’이라고 정의했다.

원 후보는 “결론적으로 문 대통령과 이재명 지사의 만남은 서로가 생존을 위한 담합, 결국 문 대통령이 임기 이후 교문을 나서면서 집으로 무사히 귀가할 수 있을지를 걱정하는 만남이 될 것”이라고 단정했다. 

그러면서 “이재명은 (문 대통령이) 교문 나서기 전부터 껌 씹고 면도칼 물고 있을 사람”이라고도 덧붙였다.

원 후보는 이어 “이번 대선 정국에서 유심히 관찰해야 할 것은 이재명-문재인-이낙연으로 이어지는 세 사람의 만남”이라면서 “이 사람들의 주변 모든 상황을 관찰하면서 전력과 전술을 세워야 한다”고 거듭 강조했다. 

원희룡 정권에서의 한반도 정세는?

원 후보는 한반도 정세 및 변화를 묻는 질문에 “당분간 지금과 같은 김정은과의 교착 상태는 지속될 것 같다”고 전망하면서도 핵 개발 및 보유에 대해서는 부정적인 입장을 유지했다. 대신 그는 “핵보다 더 강력한 것은 동맹”이라면서 “대통령이 되면 (저는) 미국과의 동맹을 더 강화하겠다”고 했다. 

이어 그는 “우리가 대외 관계 때문에.... 중국에 빠따 몇 대 맞는 한이 있더라도 미국과의 동맹은 한층 강화해야 한다. 미국은 세계 1위 군사력을 지니고 있다. 2등에서부터 10등까지의 군사력을 모두 합해도 미국의 절반 밖에 안된다”며 “핵개발, 핵 보유를 주장하는 분들도 계시지만, 넘어야 할 산이 너무 많다. 그거 하자고 우라늄 수입 이 금지되고 UN결의를 스스로 해체하는 등의 어리석은 일은 없어야 한다”고 거듭 강조했다. 

대신 그는 “기술을 통한 군사력 동맹과 정보의 공유”를 강조했다. 그러면서 북한의 도발이 언제든 있을 수 있다는 점에서 정당방위 목적의 미사일 배치, 즉 북한 2천개 주요 타격 지점을 한순간에 초토화시킬 수 있는 미사일 공격력을 강화하겠다“고 밝혔다. 

TK, 원회룡 선택하면 대박날 것

원 후보는 그동안 보수가 정권을 잡을 때마다 TK 지역에 있었던 공통적 현상중 하나인 역차별 지적에 대하여 ”나는 TK와 전략적 동맹을 맺고 싶다. 대구경북, 영남지역에서 원희룡을 전략적으로 쓰라. 그러면 대박 날 것“이라며 ”자금이 원희룡을 써먹기 가장 좋은 때“라고 지지를 호소했다. 그러면서 "나의 정치 생명을 걸고 역차별이 없도록 하갰다"고도 덧붙였다.
