【브레이크뉴스 청도】이성현 기자=김하수 청도군수는 6일 한국수자원공사 운문권지사를 긴급 항의 방문해 지난 4일부터 이어져 온 폭염 속 단수를 해결해 줄 것을 촉구했다.

군에 따르면 지난 4일 오후부터 시작된 일부 고지대의 단수는 5일 오후 6시 기준으로 청도군 화양읍, 각남․풍각․각북․이서면 일대 최대 2,480가구에 물 공급이 끊겼었다.

이는 이서배수지 수위가 급감함에 따른 단수 발생으로써 본격적인 여름피서철을 맞아 청도군을 찾는 많은 관광객들과 폭염으로인해 여느때 보다 물 사용량이 증가하게 되어 운문정수장 하루 최대 송출량 2만1천500t을 초과하게 된 것이었다.

이에 청도군에서는 지난 4일부터 단수 가구에 1.8ℓ짜리 생수 13,000여개를 읍․면사무소 및 단수가구에 배부하며, 급수차(15t외) 26대를 긴급 급수를 실시하고 있다.

이에 청도군은  근본적인 운문정수장 하루 최대 송출량 부족의 문제를 해결하기 위해 한국수자원공사 운문권지사에 여러차례 협의를 기울였으나 상황의 심각성으로 청도군수가 이날 긴급 항의 방문했다.

김하수 청도군수는 운문권지사장에게 “이번 사안은 재난상황으로써 청도군민이 느끼는 정서적 고통은 심히 말할 수 없으며, 우리지역의 물을 우리 군민이 안심하고 공급받을 수 있도록 단기적으로 정수량을 더욱 늘려 하루빨리 군민의 고통을 해결해야 하며, 장기적으로는 운문정수시설 증설과 연계하여 운문댐 송수터널 및 송수관로 복선화 사업을 추진하여 다시는 이런 일들이 반복되지 않도록 해달라.”고 적극적으로 항의했다.

마지막으로 “동창천의 맑은 환경이 운문댐으로 인해 파괴된다면 지역 주민과 관광객들에게 크나큰 고통을 주기 때문에 운문댐에서 방류하는 일일 유지수량을 배로 증대시켜야 한다.”고도 주문했다.

Lastly, he also ordered, “If the clean environment of Dongchangcheon is destroyed by Unmun Dam, it will cause great suffering to local residents and tourists, so the daily maintenance water discharge from Unmun Dam should be doubled.”
