김 군수는 내년도 주요 군정 방향으로는 ▲모든 군민이 행복한 따뜻한 복지도시, ▲맞춤형 지역개발을 통해 상생 성장하는 균형발전도시,▲주민과 함께 성장하는 안전하고 편리한 도시, ▲아이의 미래가 밝은 청도, 함께 키워가는 행복한 도시, ▲배움이삶을 변화시키는 평생학습행복도시, ▲힐링과 감동이 가득한 문화예술관광의 허브도시, ▲농업의 대전환을 통해 활력 넘치는 부자농촌 실현을 제시했다.

주요 사업으로는 청도 매전~울주 상북간 도로개설, 각북~대구(보훈병원)터널개설,경산~청도간 광역철도망 연장 국가 계획 반영 추진 등 교통망 확충 등 산업기반 조성에 주력하고, 청도천변 공원 맨발걷기길, 어린이 물놀이시설을 갖춘 빛나래 상상마당, 대동지·송전지 수변공원 조성을 통해 여가 인프라를 대폭 개선할 계획이다.

문화 및 복지 분야에서는 생활문화복합센터와 예술인 창작촌 조성, 유천문화마을 및 유등연지 인프라 조성을통해 군민의 문화·여가공간을 확대하고, 온누리 스마트 경로당 구축, 경로당 안마기 지원, 보건소 이전 신축과65세 이상대상포진 무료접종 확대, 청도형 육아복합지원센터건립,24시 돌봄어린이집 운영, 10만 원 임대주택 150호, 1만 원 빈집임대주택 등 맞춤형 복지 정책도 강화할 방침이다.

특히, 구)청도읍사무소 부지에 조성 중인 ‘도시재생뉴딜사업’과 주거 및 취·창업시설을 갖춘 화양읍 ‘지역활력타운’은 올 12월과 내년 6월에각각 착공 예정이며, 매전면 일대에 조성 중인 ‘청도자연드림파크’는 현재 토지 보상 및 일반산업단지 지정 절차가 진행 중으로 사업이 완료되면 지역의 신성장 산업을 이끌핵심동력이 될 것으로 예상된다.

또한, 주민들에게 큰 불편을 야기한 물 부족 문제를 근본적으로 해결하기 위해 중·장기계획 수립을 통해 노후 상수관망정비, 정수장 증설과송수관로복선화 등을 추진하여 상수도 공급능력을 확대할 계획이다.

군은 이 같은 주요 시책과 현안 사업의 성공적 추진을 위해 2025년도 예산안을 일반회계 5,713억 원, 특별회계 508억 원으로 지난해 본예산 6,080억 원보다 141억 원(2.3%) 늘어난 6,221억 원으로 편성하고 군의회에제출했다.
