이번 행사에는 공사 임직원 40여명이 참석하였으며, 경북도의회 건설소방위원회 김진엽 부위원장 또한 참석하여 지역 전통시장 상인들의 고충을 청취하고 소통하는 자리를 가졌다.

공사는 작게나마 지역경제 활성화에 기여하기 위해, ’18년부터 매년 명절(설, 추석)마다 이와 같은 행사를 꾸준히 가져왔다. 미리 준비한 친환경 장바구니와 전통시장 상품권(온누리 상품권)을 사용한다는 점이 특징이며, 경북지역 내 전통시장을 순차적으로 방문하여 장보기 행사를 진행하고 있다.

이재혁 경상북도개발공사 사장은 “경기 침체로 인한 소비 심리 위축으로 어려움을 겪고 있는 지역 전통시장에 작은 손길이라도 보탬이 되고 싶은 바램이다. 앞으로도 지역민들과 소통할 수 있는 다양한 활동을 통해 신뢰받는 경상북도 대표 공기업이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
