【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자= 대구도시철도공사(사장 홍승활)는 오는 10월 7일부터 청각장애인이 도시철도 이용 중 열차 지연, 긴급대피 등 비상 상황을 신속하게 인지하고 대처할 수 있도록 전국 도시철도 기관 최초로 수어 영상과 자막을 제공한다고 5일 밝혔다.

그동안 도시철도 역사나 열차 내에서 비상 상황이 발생할 경우 청각장애인들은 안내방송을 듣지 못해 신속한 대처에 어려움이 있었다.

이를 해결하기 위해 공사는 1․2호선 대합실과 승강장에 설치된 행선안내 모니터에 수어 영상과 자막을 표출하는 시스템을 구축했다.

또한, 열차 운행 중 고장 또는 신호대기로 인해 터널 내 비상정지 시에도 탑승하고 있는 청각장애인에게 정확한 상황 안내를 위해 2․3호선 열차 객실 통로 위 안내표시기에도 안내 자막이 표출된다.

다만, 3호선 역사 내 수어 영상 안내 및 1호선 열차 내 자막 표출은 시스템이 개선되는 내년에 제공될 예정이다.

홍승활 대구도시철도공사 사장은“직접적 당사자인 대구광역시농아인협회의 아름다운 재능기부로 수어 영상이 제작되어 더욱 뜻 깊으며, 앞으로도 사회적 교통약자와 안전 취약계층의 관점에서 안전 위해요소를 지속적으로 발굴하고 개선해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
