이번 사업은 기존의 단편적인 옥상녹화 사업과는 달리 다양한 생물이 서식할 수 있는 생태연못, 휴식을 위한 파고라, 천연잔디를 조성해 생태적 기능을 강화한 것이 특징이다.
앞으로 하늘정원은 직원과 청사를 방문하는 시민들을 위한 안락한 휴식공간, 화합과 소통의 장, 자연과의 공존, 생태 체험학습을 위한 공간으로 활용될 예정이다.
