【브레이크뉴스 포항】오주호 기자=(재)포항테크노파크(원장 이점식)는 지난 14일 경상북도 지역 소프트웨어(이하 SW) 교육의 거점 역할을 수행할 ‘SW미래채움센터’개소식을 온라인으로 성공리에 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 개소식은 당초 포항TP 내 위치한 환동해SW미래채움센터에서 진행될 예정이었으나 코로나19 재확산 및 사회적 거리두기를 고려해 온라인으로 진행되었다.

이날 개소식에는 김상헌 경북도의원, 경상북도 과학산업국 장상길 국장, 정해종 포항시의장, 송경창 포항시 부시장, 환동해 SW미래채움 강사 등 50여명이 온라인 참석한 가운데 진행됐다.

본 개소식은 지난 3월 공모를 통해 선정된 ‘소프트웨어 미래채움사업’의 일환으로 도내 학생들에게 SW교육을 제공할 계획으로 포항 동․남부권을 담당하는 ‘환동해 SW미래채움센터’와 안동 서․북부권을 담당하는 ‘백두대간 SW미래채움센터’를 구축할 계획이다.

SW미래채움센터는 지역 내 초·중·고 학생들과 일반인들이 자유롭게 이용할 수 있는 가상현실(VR) 공간과 경북 지역의 특화분야(재난안전, 관광, 로봇 등) SW교육프로그램을 바탕으로 교육서비스를 제공한다.

또한 체계적인 강사 양성 프로그램을 구성해 SW관련 졸업자, 경력단절여성, 미취업 청년 등을 대상으로 SW강사 양성 교육을 추진하고 교육 수료자의 일자리를 연계한다는 방침이다.

포항테크노파크 이점식 원장은 “SW미래채움센터는 경상북도 내 SW교육이 뿌리를 내릴 수 있도록 중추적 역할과 지역 SW교육 확산에 크게 기여할 것”이라며 “지역 발전을 이끄는 창의적인 SW인재 육성과 이와 연계한 지역 산업 융합을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
