‘지역 ICT이노베이션스퀘어 조성사업’은 AI, 블록체인 실무형 전문인재 육성을 위한 거점을 구축하는 사업으로, 경북, 강원, 대구 지역의 지역 6개 기관이 참여해 컨소시엄을 구성으로 사업을 운영 중이며, 경북-강원-대구 컨소시엄의 주관기관은 포항테크노파크가 맡고 있다.
지난해 8월 사업이 선정되었음에도 경북ICT이노베이션스퀘어(김천 혁신도시 內)를 비롯한 강원거점(강릉SW융합센터 內 강릉교육장, 원주의료기기테크노파크 內 원주교육장, 창작발전소 內 춘천교육장), 대구거점(대구시청별관 內 대구교육장)등 3개 권역, 5개소 구축을 12월에 완료하고, 지역별 인공지능(AI)·블록체인(BC) 복합교육을 통해 지역 실무인재 761명 육성, 취창업 일자리 창출 등 사업기간 대비 당초 사업목표를 초과 달성하는 우수한 성과를 올렸다.
2021년에는 인센티브 28억원을 포함해 총 90.86억원의 예산으로 지역 미래 SW인력 생태계 조성 기반 확대을 위한 발판으로 활용될 예정이다.
올해 구축 완료된 경북(김천 1개소, 포항 교육장 1개소 연계), 강원(강원, 강릉, 춘천 3개소), 대구(1개소)거점의 인공지능(AI)·블록체인(BC) 교육장을 활용해 현장 실무인재 1,050명을 양성하고, 지역내 일자리 창출 성과 5% 달성할 계획이다.
또한 추가로 확보한 인센티브로는 지역 기업 45개 社와 실무 프로젝트 중심의 교육을 운영할 예정이며, 해당 교육과정은 모두 72,000시간의 인공지능(AI)·블록체인(BC) 실습 중심으로 제공될 예정이다.
