【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=(재)포항테크노파크(원장 배영호, 이하 포항TP)는 환동해권 주요 해양연구기관 간 협력 네트워크 강화를 위해 지난 10월 23일과 24일 양일간 ‘환동해 해양연구기관 실무협의회 워크숍’을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 워크숍은 환동해권 해양연구기관의 실무담당자들이 한자리에 모여 기관별 주요 성과를 공유하고, 공동 협업 기반을 구축하기 위해 마련됐다. 행사에서는 ‘해양산업과 AI’를 주제로 한 특강을 시작으로, 기관별 주요 업무 및 중점 추진 현황 발표, 해양산업 관련 핵심 추진과제 공유 등 다양한 프로그램이 진행됐다.

특히 안전·로봇·AI 거버넌스 구축을 위한 협력 강화 방안과 국책사업 연계 추진 전략이 집중 논의됐으며, 이를 통해 환동해권 해양신산업 육성을 위한 구체적인 협력 방향이 제시됐다.

현재 환동해 해양연구기관은 경상북도와 포항시를 비롯해 한국해양과학기술원, 한국로봇융합연구원, 중소조선연구원, 국립울진해양과학관, 환동해산업연구원, 포항공과대학교, 포항TP 등 7개 기관이 참여하고 있다. 이들은 실무협의회를 중심으로 해양산업 활성화와 공동 연구과제 발굴을 위한 지속적인 협력체계를 구축해오고 있다.

배영호 포항TP 원장은 “이번 워크숍은 환동해 해양연구기관 간 협력 네트워크를 강화하고, 공동 연구와 사업 발굴을 위한 실질적인 협력 기반을 다지는 계기가 됐다”며 “앞으로도 환동해 해양산업의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 지속적인 협의체 운영과 연계를 추진해 나가겠다”고 말했다.

 Pohang Technopark Hosts 'East Sea Rim Marine Research Institute Working Group Workshop'

Pohang Technopark (President Bae Young-ho, hereinafter Pohang TP) announced that it held the 'East Sea Rim Marine Research Institute Working Group Workshop' on October 23rd and 24th to strengthen the cooperative network among major marine research institutes in the East Sea Rim region.

This workshop brought together working-level officials from East Sea Rim marine research institutes to share key achievements and establish a foundation for joint collaboration. The event began with a special lecture on "Marine Industry and AI," followed by presentations on key tasks and priorities for each institute, and a sharing of key initiatives related to the marine industry.

In particular, discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation in establishing governance for safety, robots, and AI, as well as strategies for linking national projects. Through this, specific directions for cooperation were outlined to foster new marine industries in the East Sea Rim region.

Currently, the East Sea Rim Marine Research Institute comprises seven participating institutions: Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Pohang City, the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology, the Korea Institute of Robotics and Convergence, the Korea Institute of Small and Medium Shipbuilding, the Uljin National Museum of Ocean Science, the East Sea Rim Industry Research Institute, Pohang University of Science and Technology, and the Pohang Technology Partnership (TP). These institutions have been building a continuous cooperative system, centered on a working-level consultative body, to revitalize the marine industry and discover joint research projects.

Pohang Technology Partnership (TP) Director Bae Young-ho stated, "This workshop served as an opportunity to strengthen the cooperative network among East Sea Rim marine research institutions and lay the groundwork for practical cooperation in joint research and project development. We will continue to operate the consultative body and promote collaboration to enhance the competitiveness of the East Sea Rim marine industry."
