이번 협약식에는 김대진 대구광역시당위원장도 참여한 가운데 더불어민주당 17개 시·도당은 지역사회의 발전과 시민에게 봉사하는 정책중심의 당을 만들고 전국정당화의 기틀을 공고히 할 것을 다짐했다.

이낙연 당대표는 코로나19라는 어려운 상황 속에서도 민주당은 시민의 열망과 함께 개혁 입법을 이뤄내고 국가의 균형발전의 기초를 마련해서 시민 경제의 현실적 어려움을 해소하는데 비상한 노력을 경주해야 한다고 강조하면서, 각 시도당이 합심하여 당의 창의적 공동사업을 발굴 육성할 것을 주문하였고 특히 여성발전기금을 적절히 배분 활용해서 시도당과 각 지역위원회의 사업이 잘 이뤄지도록 적극 지원할 것임을 언급했다.

김대진 대구시당 위원장은 대구경제의 어려움을 해소하는데 있어 중앙당 차원의 지속적인 지원과 관심을 호소하면서 대구의 현안 중 하나인 성서산업단지 호림역 대구산업선 역사 신설을 건의하였고 코로나19라는 비대면 상황에서 당원간의 적극적이고 긴밀한 소통을 위한 대구시당 차원의 온라인 플랫폼 건립 계획을 보고했다.

아울러 대구시당은 인천시당 등 수도권 시·도당과 당원 교류 활성화, 당원간의 연합교육연수, 예산지원 및 활동 인력 지원 등의 정책협약식을 맺고 실천적 노력을 기울이기로 합의했다.
