올 보궐선거와 내년 대선 등 일정부분 야권 분열을 촉발할 수 있었던 여당발 사면론이 도리어 정권교체 민심' 역풍을 맞는 것 아니냐는 전망이 지역 정치권 사이에서 회자되고 있는 것.

특히 보수심장 TK(대구경북)정가는 사면론이 불발로 그칠 경우 문재인 정부를 겨냥, 반문 민심이 크게 요동칠 것으로 내다보고 있다.

그런 때문인지 사면을 결정할 문재인 대통령은 이달 중순 신년 기자회견때까지는 사면론과 관련한 일체의 언급을 자제하기로 결론을 내린 것으로 알려졌다.

그럼에도 불구하고 이낙연 대표의 사면론은 야당 분열이 아닌 여권분열로 치달으면서 야당인 국민의힘 역공에 시달릴 가능성이 커지고 있다.

실제 국민의힘 주호영 원내대표는 이날 비상대책위회의를 통해 "새해 초 이낙연 민주당 대표가 기회라는 단서를 달아 두 분에 대한 사면을 건의하겠다고 했지만 어제 민주당 최고위에서는 반성과 사과가 전제돼야 한다는 이상한 소리를 했다"며 "자신들이 칼자루를 잡았다고 사면을 정략적으로 활용해 장난쳐서는 안 된다"고 목소리를 높였다.

그러면서 "전쟁에서 항복한 장사, 항장에 대해서도 기본적인 대우는 있다. 정치적인 재판에서 두 분 다 억울한 점 있다고 주장하는 이런 사건에서 사과나 반성을 요구한다는 것은 사면을 하지 않겠다는 것“이라며 ”문 대통령의 결단을 기대한다. 또 이낙연 대표가 한말씀에 대해 최소한의 책임을 져야 한다“고 압박했다.

부산 출신 장제원 의원도 자신의 페이스북에서 "48시간도 채 지나지 않아 말을 주워 담으니 우롱당한 느낌을 지울 수 없다"며 "앞으로 이 대표가 하는 말은 콩으로 메주를 쑨다고 하더라도 믿지 않게 되었음을 알아야 할 것"이라고 날을 세웠다.

박근혜 전 대통령의 복심으로 불리던 이정현 전 의원도 이날 "정권만을 위해 박 전 대통령을 거듭 희생물로 삼는 정치쇼는 자제해야 한다"면서 "이 대표와 문 대통령은 사면을 필요할 때 넣었다 빼는 지갑속의 카드로 보나"라고 반문했다.

사면론에 환영 분위기를 보이고 있는 TK 정가도 사면론의 진정성에 대해 계속 예의주시하는 모양새다.

일단 현 상황을 우려스럽게 바라보는 쪽에서는 이낙연 대표의 사면론이 정치쇼로 시작해 쇼로 끝나서는 안 된다는 걱정을 하고 있다.

두 전직 대통령이 사면을 받고 안 받고도 문제지만, 쇼를 잘못했다가는 여당인 민주당이 다가올 선거에서 민심의 역풍을 맞는 등 그 후유증을 심하게 앓을 가능성이 크다는 것.

때문에 추락하는 문재인 대통령의 지지율의 반등을 위한 반짝 정치쇼가 아닌 국민대통합에 방점을 찍는 사면이 조속히 이뤄져야 한다는 목소리가 여전히 힘을 얻고 있다.

지역 정치권 관계자는 “"두 전직 대통령의 사면론이 여권 내 분란으로 봉합된 상태로 넘어가게 되면, 현 정부에 반감을 갖고 있는 기존 TK의 성난 민심에 기름을 붓는 꼴이 될 것"이라며 "오는 14일 박 전 대통령의 파기심 형량 선고에 따른 특별사면 요건이 갖춰진 후 설 명절을 전후한 문 대통령의 국민 대통합 특사를 기대한다는 목소리가 조만간 TK 민심 저변에 깔리게 될 것"이라고 전망했다.
