【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자= 4일 대구에서 더불어민주당 최고위원회의를 주재한 이낙연 대표가 협력의원 제도 도입으로 민주당 국회의원이 없는 지역을 살피는 한편, 대구경북 감염병 전문병원의 추가배치와 혁신도시 공공기관에 지역인재 채용을 늘리는 방안 등을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.

이날 회의에서 이낙연 대표는 "균형발전은 어제 오늘의 과제가 아니다. 김관용 경북도지사님 함께 균형발전위원회에서 일했던 때를 생각하며 지금이 더 나아졌는가 질문을 스스로에게 던지면 자괴감이 느껴진다"면서 "균형발전을 위해서는 청년들의 일자리가 있어야 한다. 그러자면 교육, 의료, 주거, 문화 등이 뒷받침이 되어야 한다"고 설명했다.

그러면서 "의료와 관련해서 감염병 전문병원이 대구경북에 배정되지 않은 아쉬움이 있다"며 "대구경북에 감염병 전문병원이 추가 배정되도록 최선의 노력을 다하겠다"고 거듭 약속하기도 했다. 이어 이 대표는 "혁신도시에 입주한 공공기관의 지역인재 채용을 늘리고 이미 시행되고있는 공무원의 지방할당 역시 그 비율을 늘리고자 한다"고 말했다.

또한 협력의원제도 도입 추진 의사를 밝히기도 했다. 그는 "대구경북에 민주당의 국회의원이 안계시고 부울경과 강원도 역시 취약한 편이다. 우리 당의 국회의원이 없거나 적은 지역의 사업이나 예산, 여러가지 애로를 책임지고 협력드리는 의원들을 할당하겠다"고 말했다.

아울러 협력의원을 지역에 배치하는 방법에 대해서는 "연고를 우선 배치하도록 하고 지역위원회가 제안하면 현지의 제안을 우선해서 배치하도록 하겠다"면서 "협력의원을 중심으로 내실을 높이는 방향으로 활성화 하겠다"고 덧붙였다.

한편, 최근 한국갤럽이 실시한 여론조사에서 대구경북 지역의 민주당 지지율이 34%를 기록, 국민의 힘의 지지율을 앞질렀다는 발표가 나왔다. 이 대표의 대구 방문은 이같은 결과를 등에 업고 대구경북 시도민의 민심을 얻겠다는 포부로 읽혀진다. 때문에 민주당이 대구경북 민심 얻기에 더욱 박차를 가할 수 있을지 귀추가 주목되고 있다
