【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=경북소방본부는 최근 도내 캠핑장에서 휴대용 부탄가스용기를 화기 가까이 두었다가 폭발하는 사고가 연이어 발생함에 따라 도민들에게 각별한 주의를 당부한다고 18일 밝혔다.
경북소방본부 통계에 따르면, 최근 5년간 경북에서 휴대용 부탄가스 사용 중 발생한 화재는 25건으로 인명피해는 17명, 재산피해는 1억 2천만 원이 발생한 것으로 집계됐다.
연도별로는 2016년부터 2019년까지 3~5건 발생하던 화재가 2020년에 8건, 2021년 1월 현재 2건이 발생하는 등 급격한 증가세를 보이고 있다.
화재 원인으로는 휴대용 부탄가스 용기 가스 누출 44%(11건), 사용상 부주의 36%(9건), 방화 16%(4건) 순이며, 부주의 화재는 음식물 조리(4건), 기기 사용 부주의(3건), 용기 잔류가스 폭발(2건)에 의해 발생한 것으로 나타났다.
장소별로는 주택 44%(11건), 자동차 20%(5건), 식당‧숙박시설에서 16%(4건) 순으로 발생하였다. 특히 주택에서 발생한 11건의 화재에서 9명의 인명피해가 발생하였는데, 이는 화재 발생 시 순간적인 가스폭발을 동반하기 때문이다.

김종근 경북소방본부장은 “휴대용 부탄가스는 대부분 부주의에 의해 많이 발생하므로 사용자 스스로 안전 수칙을 준수하는 것이 중요하다”라며, “연일 계속되는 한파에 도민들이 안전한 겨울을 날 수 있도록 경북소방도 화재예방에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
