특별한 이상징후가 나타나기 전 위험성을 판단하기 위한 상담 활동으로 이번 화재 사고로 현재까지 12명의 상담사가 유가족 36명과 동료소방대원 47명에 대한 상담을 진행했다.

특히, 유가족에게는 사고 초기부터 소방본부 심리지원단이 1:1로 전담해 심리상담과 치료를 병행해 왔으며 거주지 정신건강복지센터와 연계해 동국대 경주병원, 경북대 간호대학, 상주제일병원에서도 심리상담을 추진하고 있다.
