경북TPDP 따르면 경북테크노파크 스마트제조혁신센터(이하 경북스마트제조혁신센터)는 지난해 코로나의 전세계적 확산 속에서도 지역기업 238개사에 스마트공장 구축을 지원했으며 특히, 지역내 기업에 확산효과가 큰 고도화 지원사업에서는 목표 대비 127%를 초과하는 84개사를 지원했다.

이러한 성과는 20년간 축적된 데이터를 활용한 산·학·연·관 지역협의체 운영, 찾아가는 서비스를 통한 지역기업 의견수렴, 도입 희망기업에 대한 사전컨설팅 등 차별화된 기업지원 노하우가 작용한 것으로 분석되고 있다.

특히 제조혁신분야 최고의 전문가로 구성된 ‘코디네이터’가 구축된 스마트공장의 다양한 활용 방안을 직접 컨설팅함으로써 지역기업의 디지털 경쟁력 강화로 직접 귀결되는 결과를 낳고 있다.
