경상북도안동의료원에 따르면 경북금연지원센터는 1기(2015년~2017년), 2기(2018년~2020년) 금연사업을 통해 청소년, 여성, 대학생, 장애인, 300인 미만 소규모사업장을 대상으로 찾아가는 금연지원서비스를 제공했으며, 중증․고도 흡연자를 위한 4박 5일 전문치료형 금연캠프, 입원환자대상 금연지원서비스를 운영했다.
이번 3기(2021년~2023년) 금연사업에서는 기존의 금연지원서비스를 유지하는 한편 저소득층 및 65세 이상 흡연자 지원, 지역사회 금연사업지원․관리 등을 추가하여 운영할 계획이다.
이윤식 경북금연지원센터장은 “2015년부터 운영하고 있는 경북금연지원센터의 체계적이고 전문적인 금연지원서비스를 통해 경북 지역의 흡연율 감소를 위해 노력하겠으며, 지역사회와의 협력을 통해 건강하고 행복한 경상북도를 만드는데 앞장서겠다.”고 밝혔다.
