대구도시철도공사는 2022년 두바이 장애인양궁 세계선수권대회에서 박준범 선수가 개인전에 참가해 동메달을 획득했다고 2일 밝혔다.

이번 대회는 양궁대회 3대 국제대회 중 하나로 2년 단위로 펼쳐지는 경기로 2021 도쿄올림픽으로 인해 1년 지연 개최됐다.

박준범 선수는 이번 대회 참가 과정에서 많은 우여곡절을 겪었다.

국가대표 소집훈련과정에서 이천 국가대표 훈련원에서 코로나가 발생해 3차례나 소집이 연기됐고, 참가 일주일 전에는 코로나19 확진이라는 악재를 만나 컨디션 조절에 난항을 겪었지만 이를 극복하고 동메달을 획득했다.

대구도시철도공사 사장 홍승활은“코로나19로 인해 훈련을 제대로 소화하지 못해 컨디션이 정상이 아님에도 이번에 이룬 큰 성과에 진심으로 감사와 축하를 보낸다”며“향후 2022년 항저우 아시안게임 및 각종 국내대회에서도 좋은 성적을 낼 수 있도록 시민들의 많은 격려와 응원을 바란다”고 밝혔다.
