【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=제60회 경북도민체육대회를 밝혀줄 성화가 14일 오전 호국의 영산인 경주 토함산에서 채화돼 대회 개최지인 포항시로 봉송에 나섰다.

경주시에 따르면 이날 성화 채화행사는 초헌관으로 김호진 경주시 부시장, 아헌관에 이동협 경주시의회 부의장, 종헌관에 이영환 경주시체육회 부회장등이 참여해 도민체전 성공적 개최와 도민의 화합과 번영을 기원했다.

채화된 성화는 서환길 경주시 경기연맹협의회장을 포함한 10명의 봉송 주자가 석굴암 통일대종 종각에서 주차장 매표소 구간을 봉송했다.

경주를 떠난 성화는개최지인 포항시 주요 관광지를 각계각층의 시민들과 함께 순회할 예정이다.

이후 포항 운하관 안치대에 안치됐다가 대회 개막날인 15일 포항종합운동장의 봉화대에 점화돼 도민체육대회 기간 동안 빛을 발할 예정이다.

올해 경북도민체육대회는 지난 2020년, 2021년에는 코로나19 사태로 인해 일부 종목이 취소되거나 축소됐다가 3년 만에 정상 개최하게 됐다.

성화 채화지인 경주시는 여준기 체육회장을 선수단장으로 28개 종목 844명의 선수단이 참가해 종합 3위를 목표로 선의의 경쟁을 펼칠 예정이다.

한편 이번 제60회 경북도민체육대회는 오는 15일부터 18일까지 나흘간 포항시에서 ‘환동해 포항의 꿈, 경북에서 세계로’라는 슬로건 아래 개최된다.

After leaving Gyeongju, Seonghwa plans to tour major tourist spots in Pohang, the host city, with citizens from all walks of life.
